I am a qualified Art Psychotherapist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC), and a member of British Association of Art Therapists (BAAT).
I feel it’s important to develop a trusting therapeutic relationship, encouraging safe communication.
Through art making, talking, playing games, and being creative, children and adults find ways of unlocking feelings that maybe hard to put into words.
Through the course of the Therapy there is an opportunity to develop ways of sharing some of the underlying emotional issues and behavior that may be affecting your emotional stability.
I have had many years of experience of working with children, young people, their families and support workers, in schools, in various different roles. As an Art Therapist I have worked with individuals and small groups of children who’ve had speech, language and engagement difficulties, children that have witnessed domestic violence, sexual abuse and drug addiction. Those coping with loss and bereavement, living in foster care, selective mutism, autism, emotional regulation issues and attachment disorder.
